The Heller Black Master is a finely toothed rasp, similar to the Red Tang. This rasp is especially well suited for hard, dry hooves. The Black Master differs from the Red Tang through the addition of an extra coating that ensures the material is released from the rasp more easily and makes it more wear resistant. This rasp is suitable for many horses and particularly those that spend a lot of time outside where the hooves accumulate sand and mud that can have a negative impact on the wear process of rasps. The file side of the Heller rasps is sharp, enabling efficient removal of material with little effort.
