This standard covers two classes of volumetric pipets: Class A, Precision Pipet, and Class B, General Purpose. Pipets must be made from borosilicate glass meeting specified requirements, calibrated to deliver the intended volume, and consist of a suction tube, delivery tube, and bulb, all permanently attached. All markings must be permanent and legible.
