In experiments P5.5.2.1 and P5.5.2.2, a cylindrical electric oven with a burnished brass cylinder serves as a 'black body'. The cylinder is heated to temperatures ranging from 300 to 750 K. A thermocouple measures the temperature. A water-coolable screen ensures the setup primarily measures the cylinder's temperature. A Moll's thermopile, connected via the µV Sensor S/Box to Mobile-CASSY or the CASSY computer interface, provides a relative measure of radiated power M. Manual point-by-point measurement is possible with Mobile-CASSY, while the CASSY computer interface enables computer-assisted measuring and evaluation. The goal is to validate Stefan-Boltzmann's law.
