This version of my hand crafted magnetic knife racks is made from kiln dried maple and will complement the maple cutting boards found in many kitchens. Unique to my design, this rack works equally well either mounted on your wall or magnetically secured to the side of your refrigerator, making it an ideal choice for apartment dwellers or those kitchens with insufficient wall space to mount a rack. The rack is 18 inches long with embedded magnets to hold 9 knives or other steel items. The magnets are below the surface, so are not visible, but more importantly your knives are in contact with wood; not against exposed magnets or metal which can mar and dull your valuable cutlery. The magnets are arranged so that each of your knives will be automatically spaced apart and will also automatically hang vertically. The edges are rounded for appearance, it is sanded to satin smoothness and finished with an application of food safe mineral oil.
