Jones-Sports Turnbuckles are drop-forged and hot-dipped galvanized. Drop-forged turnbuckles have a higher tensile strength, making them stronger and less likely to fracture than formed turnbuckles. What’s the difference between hot-dipped galvanized and electroplated/galvanized? Most turnbuckles sold are electroplated, which is less expensive to manufacture but has a much thinner coating. Hot-dipped galvanized coatings are up to 10 times as thick and will always greatly outlast zinc electroplating in any environment.
