The SV209 0.8X focal reducer/field flattener reduces the focal length of the SV550 122mm APO refractor to capture a wider starry sky with finer star points and a better signal-to-noise ratio under the same exposure. In addition to shortening the focal length of the telescope for faster photography, the SV209 0.8X focal reducer/field flattener eliminates the normal field curvature inherent in all refractors.The SV550 122mm telescope adopts a FPL-51 triplet apochromatic lens structure which contains one piece of ED glass. The triplet lens provides better correction of aberration and significantly reduces chromatic aberration and enhance the clarity and sharpness.
