Power on VGTA• 2. Disconnect power• 3. Remove 4 screws and then remove VGTA• 4. Confirm the gears are in the pre-install position• 5. Prior to installing an actuator onto a turbocharger, assure that the turbo sector gear is in the pre-position to mesh with the pre-aligned actuator drive gear.• 6. Actuator’s pre-installation process should be conducted electronically (see service tool instructions)Service Tool– Step 1: Clear VGTA calibration. Before installing an actuator on a turbocharger, the actuator’s span (0% and 100% position) calibration must be cleared. (Cal change, no gear movement)– Step 2: Reset VGTA position to the factory default (or manually turn the drive gear mark facing 225 degree). Must complete the step 2 before installing a VGTA on a turbocharger– Step 3: Recalibrate VGTA. After installing a VGTA on a turbocharger, command VGTA to learn the span information of the turbocharger and save this distance information in the VGTA’s firmware.Practice and understand the 3-step service tool process before installing a VGTA on a turbocharger.No service tool needed if reinstall the VGTA on the same turbo, but must confirm that the turbo gear is in the install position to mesh with the pre-aligned actuator gear (225 degree) in case it has been manually changed
