The Dryer High Limit Thermostat (L295-215F) shuts off the heating element or burner when the dryer overheats. This high limit thermostat includes the inlet thermistor that measures the temperature of the heated air entering the dryer drum. The only difference between the high limit thermostat and the operating thermostat is their opening and closing temperatures. This part is designed to be used with select major brand dryers including Whirlpool®, Maytag® and Kenmore® and KitchenAid®; check to see if your model number is compatible Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dryer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the dryer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the washing machine before installing this part. Helpful Tip: This a replacement part may look different than the original thermostat in your appliance, but will still install and operate the same.
