F7A DCC READY LOCOMOTIVE - SANTA FE - BLUE & YELLOW - Ho Scale. Produced by EMD beginning in the late 1930’s is credited by historians as one of the most important locomotives of all time. The first of the EMD’s widely popular F-series diesel locomotive designed for freight service, it was successful in convincing rail systems across the United States that diesel locomotives were the future of rail travel and worthy of replacing long-used steam locomotives. This Bachmann F Unit is DCC ready with a factory-installed 8-pin socket for DCC decoder installation of your choice (Decoders sold separately). Additional features include Die-cast chassis, operating headlight per prototype, teardrop windows, separate windshield wipers, and E-Z Mate® Mark II couplers. Performs best on 18" radius curves or greater.
