This compact cash register, marketed by the American firm 'National Cash Register' since 1884, is the Model 312, produced and sold at the start of the 20th century, and used in France, as indicated by the 'Caisse' sign at the top. It features a glass display with 14 double-sided price tags, visible to both customer and vendor. The corresponding keys can be lifted and pressed, triggering an authentic bell sound. This exquisite, gold-plated bronze object is adorned with ornaments: pearl friezes, garlands, and swirls decorate it on all sides. Above the cash drawer, which has six compartments for coins and banknotes, there's a white marble shelf. The entire piece stands on a wooden base.
