The beating heat of the midday sun, the stench of men and horses, and the gurgling cry of the wounded and dying; these were common sensations on the medieval battlefield, and there you are, holed up behind your pavise, and only the only thing between you and the arrows of your opponent is the many-layered quilted linen armor known as the Gambeson. This particular gambeson is a cotton-blend reproduction, and the protective layers and stiff quality of the fabric most closely resemble what was called a Padded Jack, and was meant to be stand-alone armor, without mail or plate coverings. These gambesons come in black and red. [Dimensions] Sizes range from Small with a waist size of 13” across, to 3XLarge with a waist size of 21” across.
