THIS IS A GREAT SAW!! Although the 034 isn't made any more (few things of Excellent Quality and Awesome Construction are), it's a GR8 investment, parts are readily available, it has all the power ANY Home/Farm/Ranch Owner will ever need, rated for up to a 20" bar (which has you felling up to 48" diameter trees), and an absolutely rock solid, bombproof design makes it a good entry level commercial saw as well. I have run these all day long...doesn't wear out the operator, doesn't bog down or even lose compression after 8-10 hours of continuous service. About the ONLY downside is that (like ALL well tuned Saws that will cut a dozen cords of wood for You daily) they Are LOUD. Use Hearing protection. • This piston and many other items we offer are fully suitable for a Stihl chainsaw. The Stihl 036 chainsaw comes with an air filter system, which keeps dust and debris from entering the chainsaw and affecting the engine. You can install either fleece or fabric filters in this chainsaw. Fleece filters are good for working in dusty conditions, and the fabric filter is for both winter and normal operating conditions.
• The chainsaw is relatively lightweight, weighing only 12.6 lbs. It comes with a kickback bar and a low kickback chain. These items reduce the kickback force, making the chainsaw safer to operate. The chain sprocket for the Stihl ms chain is available with either seven teeth for a 3/8-inch pitch or eight teeth for a 0.325-inch pitch.
• This chainsaw has a rear and a front D-loop handle, which helps you better control the chainsaw. The D-loop handle also increases user comfort and reduces fatigue from vibrations.
• The 036 pro models add in a compression release button which not only makes it much easier to start up while in a tree but reduces the heavy wear and tear that is applied to the starting rope, pawls, pulley while yanking it to get it fired up.
