As of LTO-4, secure AES-256 encryption provides even higher levels of data security and compliance with the strictest industry-specific regulations to prevent unauthorized data access. Starting with LTO-5, the HPE LTO Ultrium Linear Tape File System makes using tape drives as easy, flexible, mobile and intuitive as with other removable and sharable storage media (e.g. USB drives).
