The rear crankshaft seal is one of the most difficult to replace. When they fail, your engine will mark its territory with puddles/droplets of oil wherever you park. In addition to making a mess, it can also cause oil to come into contact with the clutch disc, which can deteriorate the material, and if the oil level is not checked periodically, major leaks can cause extensive internal engine damage or of the turbocharger. This seal includes the rear flange. The perfect time to replace this seal is during clutch replacement.
