Closing off the area of the radiator core that's not covered by the fans significantly improves their ability to pull air through the core. And that moving air makes a big difference in cooling a demanding hot rod engine. The challenge is that some fan layouts block a large portion of the radiator with the shroud. While that’s fine at lower speeds where the fans are doing most of the work, at higher speeds it can limit airflow when the car is moving and natural airflow should be assisting cooling. That’s where these Fan Shroud Airflow Relief Flaps come into play. At low speeds with the fan on, the flaps remain closed to direct airflow through the fan openings. But as vehicle speed increases, incoming air pressure lifts the flaps, allowing more air to pass through the radiator core—giving you optimal airflow regardless of speed or driving conditions. The template makes installation easy with perfectly located holes—#31 drill for mounting snaps and 3/8-inch drill holes for corners
