This Timken RPB series stamped steel pillow block bearing unit is composed of a zinc-plated stamped steel housing equipped with two bolt holes for applications where mounting space is limited. Within the housing is a double rubber sealed single row ball bearing that has a wide, extended inner ring for providing additional support to the shaft. The balls are evenly spaced on the raceways with a heat-stabilized, moisture-conditioned nylon retainer for reduced friction, vibration, and noise. Excess noise is also dampened by additional surface finishing on the balls and raceways. The bearing locks to the shaft with an eccentric (asymmetric) self-locking collar that is secured with a setscrew and is lubricated at manufacture.
