The AprilAire 1213 Performance Upgrade Kit helps improve the air filtration performance of the AprilAire 2120 or AprilAire or Space-Gard 2200 Whole-House Air Purifier. The kit is an easy-to-install frame system that eliminates the pleat spacers and the work involved with filter replacements. The 1213 Kit is a one-time installation that assembles without tools and converts your equipment from the AprilAire 201 MERV 10 Air Filter to a high-performance AprilAire MERV 13 Air Filter. MERV—which stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value—is a measurement of how effectively an air filter can trap airborne particles of different sizes. Higher MERV ratings signify better filtration capabilities. The AprilAire MERV 13 Filter removes common airborne allergens including dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mites, and other irritants as they pass through the filtering system. In addition, your HVAC system is protected from airborne particles, which helps lower your energy costs, and can prolong the life of your equipment. The kit takes just 30 seconds to snap together, slides directly into your air purifier, and includes one AprilAire 213 MERV 13 Air Filter which lasts for up to a year. Other compatible filters are the AprilAire 210 MERV 11, AprilAire 213CBN MERV 13+Carbon, and AprilAire 216 MERV 16 (sold separately).
