The body of the Ivanhoe Black is covered in a micro-woven coat of mail in deep black stainless steel, (a Milanese sheath). Using a highly advanced technology, Caran d’Ache craftsmen have treated the steel to receive a black PVC coating that is both strong and beautiful. This process colours the fundamental structure of the steel giving it an extraordinary fineness that will remain eternally unchanged, creating pleasant texture in the writer’s hand. Fountain pen nib is 18 carat gold, rhodium-coated and has a screw cap fitted with a flexible clip. Pen is supplied with a piston ink pump which can be filled with the Caran d'Ache chromatics collection ink and Caran d'Ache ink cartridges, all supplied in a Caran d’Ache gift box.
