GAP based this 4-band EQ off of the classic 1081 module, starting with a comparable class-AB equalizer circuit, but without the lowpass and highpass filters. The MKIII employs some serious, no-nonsense vintage-style electronics, free from integrated circuits in its signal path when the insert connector is in use. The versatility of the MKIII's frequencies has stunned Sweetwater's sound engineers, offering an incredible wide frequency range with shelving and bell switching for the bass and treble bands, respectively. You can get creative and combine the MKIII with GAP's separate Pre-73 preamp to replicate a full vintage 1081-style unit for a fraction of the cost.
