Fender created the Big Apple Strat in the 1990s to marry some of the most popular Strat tones (positions 2/4) with the humbucker tones of the guitars made by their competitors (positions 1/3/5): 5: Neck HB 4: Neck SC 3: Neck HB + Bridge HB 2: Neck SC + Bridge SC 1: Bridge HB So of course we thought “Man, wouldn’t that be cool in a Tele? But then, you’d need a superswitch that would fit in a Tele.” Well, it happens that we have just such a switch!Our HH1 scheme employs Big Apple wiring, but our second position uses one screw coil and one slug coil from the pickups to retain hum-canceling.
