  • HANDCRAFTED IN AFRICA – This Kpanlogo Peg Drum is hand-carved by expert drum builders in Ghana. The kpanlogo (PAHN-lo-go) drum is a peg drum developed around the time of independence in Ghana by the Ga people in and around the coastal Accra region. This drum is commonly named for the kpanlogo dance it was originally played for, but the proper name is Twileshi (CHWEE-lay-she).
  • SOLID CONSTRUCTION – Measuring 10 x 24 inches, this drum is made from Mansonia wood, a legally harvested tropical drum wood. Its solid one-piece construction ensures durability and excellent sound resonance. Both sides feature deeply carved Adinkra symbols, adorned with flowing geometric designs
  • AUTHENTIC DRUM HEAD – Featuring calf skin drum head, closely shaved to eliminate uncomfortable stubble and enhance sound quality. Its conga-like shape and peg-tuned head create a visually striking instrument with a beautiful tone. Traditionally, the kpanlogo is played with a relatively light hand technique and is not designed to produce the volume and tonal range typical of djembe or conga drums.
  • READY TO PLAY RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX - After import from Africa, each musical instrument is cleaned, inspected, tuned, and played individually to check sound and quality.
  • SUPPORTING COMMUNITY AND TRADITION – Our musical instruments and accessories are unique. All our products are hand-crafted in Africa by village cultural artisans. Each purchase contributes directly to Africa Heartwood Project, supporting the livelihoods of communities in Africa. This non-profit, run by passionate volunteers, fights poverty and promotes community development in West Africa. Your choice makes a difference, blending the joy of music with social impact.
