The new MEINL Traditional Bendirs are made true to the classical North African form. Four adjustable nylon strings spanning the inside of the goatskin head create the characteristic buzzing sound. This fine frame drum is fully tunable with rich bass tones and crisp taks. The body is deep for full sound development yet light for comfort and extended play.
- Internal Lug tuning system: tuning lugs on the inside of the shell allow players to easily change the sound and tension of the drum
- Deep hardwood shell: The shell of the mishear is deeper than most traditional hand drums, allowing it to create lower bass notes and overall longer sustain; measures 12" X 4"
- Hand selected goat head: This hand drum is equipped with a goat skin head that provides a pleasant resonance at both high and low frequency
- Thumb hole grip: the lightweight build of the frame along with a thumb hole grip makes this bender drum comfortable and easy to play
- Add cultural sounds: the unique timbre of the bender drum is designed for traditional North African and Southwest Asian styles but it may be used in contemporary music to add unexpected flavors
