Epiphone’s Inspired by Gibson Firebird rocks the reverse body and headstock design that first appeared when the Firebird was introduced in 1963. Designed by legendary automotive designer Ray Dietrich, the Firebird was Gibson’s first neck-through-body guitar—a bold departure from traditional builds. The Firebird features a classic 9-ply mahogany and walnut neck-through-body design, offering rich, warm tonality and impressive sustain. Thanks to the neck-through construction, the tuners, pickups, bridge, and tailpiece are all mounted directly onto the same continuous piece of wood, which enhances resonance and sustain dramatically. The SlimTaper C-profile neck is topped with a bound rosewood fretboard featuring 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid trapezoid inlays, delivering a smooth feel, fast playability, and classic styling. The newly refreshed Firebird is outfitted with a set of ProBucker FB720 Firebird pickups with Alnico 2 magnets. These pickups are built to the original specs of the 1960s Gibson Firebird pickups and are wired with high-quality CTS potentiometers to faithfully reproduce the bright, hum-free tones that define the Firebird’s unmistakable voice. Although Firebird pickups are similar in size to mini humbuckers, they’re a very different design. Unlike traditional mini humbuckers, which use pole pieces and a single magnet beneath the coils, Firebird pickups feature no pole pieces. Instead, they utilize two blade magnets inside the coils, along with a steel reflector plate—delivering a tone that stands apart from any other humbucking pickup. The Epiphone Inspired by Gibson Firebird also includes premium hardware: an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge, LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece, and Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners. A Graph Tech nut ensures rock-solid tuning stability, while the iconic Firebird pickguard—with the hot-stamped red logo—adds a touch of vintage flair. Whether you’re tearing it up on stage or riffing in your rehearsal space, the Firebird’s radical shape and searing tone make it a true rock ’n’ roll icon. A premium gig bag is included for grab-and-go convenience and protection.
