The BookI am pleased to present the guitar version of "Fenaroli's Regole Musicali per i principianti di cembalo," a comprehensive resource for guitarists interested in the study of partimento. As a guitarist with extensive experience in researching and teaching partimento, I have come to appreciate its undeniable benefits in both theoretical and practical contexts.Through my research, I have discovered that many of the schemata used in partimento playing can be found in the works of well-known composers such as Sor, Carulli, and Giuliani. This discovery has enabled me to better understand how these composers realized the musical syntax of the eighteenth century on their instruments.My book focuses on the work of Fenaroli, whose rules represent a systematic and fundamental collection for realizing the various musical patterns inherent in partimento playing. The arrangements in my book draw upon Fenaroli's First Book of Partimenti, which I have adapted for the guitar by transferring all exercises to the treble clef.My hope is that this book will serve as a valuable resource for guitarists of all skill levels, providing a comprehensive exploration of the theory and practice of partimento.Nicola PignatielloThe AuthorNicola Pignatiello is a guitarist and lutenist based in Rome who divides his musical career equally between concert performances and teaching. He has won several awards in national and international guitar competitions, including Barletta, Ostuni, Lecce, and Lamporecchio. As a member of Duo Scarlatti, he has performed extensively throughout Europe, the USA, and Canada. Pignatiello was also awarded the national prize by the Italian Minister of Culture for his "new educational practices."For many years, Pignatiello has been conducting research on Partimento, which is at the core of his research interests.
