Portable Water Purification Unit for Removal of Iron & Hydrogen Sulfide (Rotten Egg Smell) - Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Construction

The MIF0735-M-0.5-GP-W filter provides 1/2 cubic foot of Greensand filtration media selected to remove Iron, Manganese, Hydrogen Sulfide (that rotten egg smell), Radium and Arsenic 5 and other oxidizable metals from water. The portable-manually operated filter is suitable for persons who camp in their recreational vehicles, own a timeshare or vacation condominium, have a vacation cabin, or appreciate clean water when camping. At the end of a service cycle (determined by the number of gallons treated), the unit is backwashed and then regenerated downflow (in a manner similar to a sodium cycle softening) with a solution of the oxidant selected and then backwashed again. This process will restore the oxidative capacity of the filtration media. The regeneration level should be 4 ounces (2.12 - 4.24 grs/L) of KMnO4 or a container of bleach to refresh the oxidation media. It is recommended that regeneration be initiated prior to the complete exhaustion of the filter. This is important to extend the service life. The filtration media selected by MobileH2O is made of a manganese dioxide-coated surface of sand-like material. The process is designed to operate in a pH range of 6.2 to 8.5. pH ranges outside of this will reduce the filter's effectiveness or prevent oxidation completely.
