Founded in 1725-1726, Brunswick Town, encompassing what would be Port Brunswick and Fort Anderson (A Civil War era defense), would become a maritime experiment along the shores of the mighty Cape Fear River. Becoming a permanent settlement with success, it would birth trade, commerce, and historical events that would affect the greater Lower Cape Fear Region, even to this day. Present day Winnabow now represents not only the first plantations of this area, but the first town constructed on both merit from the Crown and earnings from those who chose to sever ties. During the American Revolution, Brunswick would burn and never be rebuilt. To this day, the foundations of the homes, the church house, and the merchant stores are located, uncovered, and on display. To bring remembrance back from this original design laid out by Maurice Moore, brother of King Roger Moore, son of the Moore Family, and forever etched in North Carolina's identity, a historic site is now open to the public. This photobook takes each page to bring a hallowed sense of respect for the footsteps of colonial pioneers. From Charles Town to Southport, the Welsh Settlement to Plantation Row, God has dwelt here. His feet also walks with ours, faithfully alongside of those who are faithful and true to His Word and Name. The 250th publication and special edition of such a monumental feat, may God bless this book and as a new chapter begins, a new story is told from old. Old Town and Town Creek bearing witness nearby and the royal governors and traveling ministers, preaching and teaching nigh. May this 300 year anniversary in the 250th year of America visited on the 25th of October in 2023, bring 250 more graces to the spirit of our nation and to the State of Carolina North. Read more
