From Sea to Sea: Shining Round About, Volume Forty-Three (Images On High) Paperback – March 12, 2026

For nearly fifty years, the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher has been an anchor to Pleasure Island and the string of beaches that New Hanover and Brunswick County share. At the mouth of the Cape Fear River and entering into the Atlantic Ocean, much marine history exists, in addition to early exploration. As these habitats demand, the variety of the fish and predator species that occupy the North Carolina Coast are both tropical and colorful. They are diverse and are hand-crafted by Our Lord both to entertain us and sustain us. Our delicate ecosystems in both the river and on the coastline represent the Gulf Stream, the Barrier Reef, and the fragile domicile that so many specimens claim as home. The water quality for us also in the Cape Fear Watershed, we can thank those same creatures for inspiring us to live well. God refuses to do anything without purpose, and this visitation made to the Fort Fisher Aquarium blessed my mother and myself as we spotted seahorses, spied on moray eels, and understood the size and record of the historic Megalodon. To this day, this museum under the sea is a spectacular involvement for any age, educating us on local habitats, such as river otters and alligators, to the Cape Fear Shoals, where hammerheads and tiger sharks roam. All of it, to prove that God cares for us and we can care for Him. The 254th publication, from one island to the other, one riverbed to the following, one wave to the next, we are under the watchful eye of God's Spirit and His Christ has redeemed us.
