In this book I document a day trip with my sister to Salton Sea in the Imperial Valley of Southern California. A trip which had been talked about and planned for a couple years. After some California heat, a little world wide pandemic and my reluctance to travel, it finally came to be in April of 2023.The Salton Sea and surrounding areas have grown into a burgeoning area for outsider art and people who wish to live outside "normal" society in more ways than one. Sculptures erected by the wealthy stand next to sculptures erected by the not so wealthy. Graffiti, public art, and installations stand side by side in this unforgiving landscape.We traveled through Niland, walked Bombay Beach, had lunch at The Ski Inn, visited Leonard Knight's Salvation Mountain, and walked through East Jesus (located within' Slab City).It was a trip that I think we both needed.
