This mezuzah case comes with a premium, upscale, certified kosher scroll (Klaf), written by an experienced Israeli Sofer(scribe) on a high quality parchment. The scroll, which is beautifully hand written, meets stringent standards of Kashrut. Each scroll is checked both by a second Sofer and by computer at a special institute in Jerusalem to ensure that the scroll is properly written and that there are no defects. The scroll is approximately 2 ½ inches tall and 3 ¼ inches wide. It is traditionally believed that the Mezuzah scroll protects the household members both physically and spiritually. Therefore, it is important that the scroll be clearly hand written by a professional scribe on a Kosher animal parchment. The scroll comes rolled and protected by plastic so that it is ready to be placed into the mezuzah case. The parchment, or Klaf, contains the text of the Jewish prayer that is the essence of the Mezuzah. The mezuzah cover and scroll come packaged in a box suitable for gift wrapping.
