Like his literary hero, Walt Whitman, poet Sean Rima has been editing and revising a single work of poetry for most of his adult life. Self-published under half a dozen titles over a period spanning four decades, early versions were produced on Xerox machines at various jobs along the way. He released his first publish-on-demand version in 2009, called "Wild West Show," out of Austin, Texas. This final version, entitled simply "Complete Poems,'" is the author's preferred edition. "All I ever wanted was to leave behind me one decent book of poems," Rima has said, "and 'Complete' is about as close to that original idea as I can get. I think it's a beautiful damn book. Whether anyone ever reads it or not is irrelevant..."Dealing with personal issues such as alcoholism, addiction, divorce, parenthood, sickness, aging, and the deaths of friends and family, 'Complete Poems' is also a running journal on the poet's reflections concerning world events ranging from 9/11, to Covid, to the civil unrest of '20 and '25.Raw, gritty, and painfully honest, Sean Rima's 'Complete Poems' tells the story of one man's search for meaning in an ever-evolving America, and "all the weird sh*t" that happened along the way...."Enjoy the ride!Mondo Ganji, friend & collaborator."Sean is my second favorite living poet. The first is Billy Joe Shaver."Kinky Friedman, 2012. Read more
