With the E240 metric coarse tap from Dormer's Blue Shark range, combined with the A108 drill, the L114305 tap and drill set for stainless steels gives you great threads all the way through the workpiece and you know you have the right diameter drills to pre-drill the holes for the taps. The Blue Shark E240 tap can be used on a range of materials but has been designed with stainless steels in mind. Conforming to German Industry Standards, the E240 is made from powder metal high speed cobalt which gives a superior performance and extends tool life. Coated with our special Super B, the E240 performs very well when threading harder materials such as stainless steels and produces a more accurate thread by ensuring the workpiece material does not stick to the cutting edge of the tool. With a spiral flute design, the E240 is designed to thread holes going right through the workpiece. Whilst it is suitable for a number of different applications and materials, the A108 drill is very good for drilling stainless steels. The A108 has a 135 degree split point which helps self-centering on the workpiece when you begin drilling and reduces the amount of force needed to drill the hole, whilst he steam oxide finish helps stop work piece material from sticking to the cutting edge of the drill.
