One thing we can say with absolute certainty, is that no matter how wealthy one is, no matter how healthy, no matter how amazing one’s relationships and life, to say that one does not experience challenging or difficult feelings would probably be a big untruth.And so, I present to you this book on mastering your emotional and feeling body. Let me be clear that mastering the emotional body does not mean you will never again experience a bad feeling. What it does mean, however, is that you will have in your hands a 5,000 year old Taoist spiritual technology which will allow you to transmute any negative feelings back into the life-force that created the feelings in the first place.The key principle that I would like to put across in this book is that all feelings, at their root, are being created by Qi (Chi) or life-force. This is the main difference between what we would call Western psychological methods and approaches, and the Taoist spiritual technology which you will be learning and mastering in this book.In Western psychological approaches and methods, thoughts and feelings are seen as primary, whereas in the Taoist approach, which is much older, it is the life-force or Qi (Chi) which is seen as primary and as the creator of feelings and thoughts. To use a simple metaphor, Western psychology is changing the software, whereas Taoist alchemy is upgrading the hardware, and ultimately improving the flow and efficiency of the electricity that is running the hardware and software..The other fundamental difference is that Western psychology is mostly focused on the human experience only, whereas the Taoist approach recognizes that this universal medium of the life-force or Qi (Chi), is governing not only our internal world of feelings and thoughts, but also the outer world of nature. For example, in the Taoist approach, it is the Wood phase of the life-force that creates the human experience of anger or the virtue of Kindness arising in the Soul. This same Wood phase is also responsible for making a tree grow and for the expansion of our universe.In essence, the life-force has a language, and it has principles, and it is possible for each one of us to learn this language and these principles, and even more importantly, to embody them. The end result of this is that one no longer feels like a victim of one’s thoughts and feelings, but rather sees them as an opportunity to engage with and be an active co-creator with the life-force within.Along the way on your journey of learning to master your emotional body, you will find that your outer relationships with others will become far more harmonious, and that you will develop deep compassion for your fellow human brothers and sisters, as they also walk this path.
