This Chicago-Latrobe 150 DHT series parabolic jobber length drill bit set contains 29 high-speed steel drill bits, including inch sizes 1/16" through 1/2" in 1/64" increments, with a TiN coating and a 135-degree notched point for use in deep drilling applications on ferrous and nonmetallic materials. High-speed steel (HSS) provides hardness for wear resistance. The titanium nitride (TiN) coating withstands higher drilling speeds, increases drill bit hardness, and extends tool life when compared to uncoated tools. The drill bit's web thins at the tip to create a 135-degree notched point, which penetrates material more easily than a conventional point. The parabolic structure of this jobber length drill creates a wider flute to increase coolant flow and chip evacuation. It provides a drilling depth up to between eight and twelve times the drill bit diameter. The round shank accommodates most drill chucks.The set comes in a gray epoxy-coated steel index case with labeled compartments for identification and organization.
