Ecotex Water Based Retarder Additive by Screen Print Direct is formulated to extend the working time of water based screen printing inks. In warm or dry shop conditions, water based ink can evaporate quickly, causing drying in the mesh, stencil breakdown, and inconsistent prints. This additive slows the evaporation rate to help prevent dry-in while maintaining proper curing characteristics when used correctly. It improves ink flow, reduces press stoppage, and supports smoother production during longer runs. Ideal for use with water based white, standard water based colors, and discharge ink systems. Especially beneficial when printing with high mesh counts or fine detail artwork. Recommended usage is 1–5% by weight. Always test cure temperature and wash durability before production.
