<h2><strong>TRUE RED / ORANGE </strong><strong>MICA PIGMENT</strong></h2><p><strong>This is one in our family of "True" colors. The "True" micas are all bright, low-sheen micas which have been so made by the blending of FD&amp;C dyes with a mica substrate. Generally, the "True" colors are not approved for use in eye products because they contain these dyes.</strong></p><p><strong>True Red/Orange is red in appearance unless it is put into a high pH environment such as soap, when it turns orange.</strong></p><p>The colors have been specially manufactured to be "hydrophobic", which means that they resist water.</p><p>Mica's are non-toxic occurring naturally from the minerals muscovite and silicate. Mica is smaller than 20 microns, gives a satiny appearance while large micas provide a sparkly effect. Mica's are then coated with various oxides, carmine and titanium dioxide to give a full range of colors.</p><p>Our True Red Orange Mica Pigment approved for general cosmetic use. Not stable in high pH.
