・The shape is designed to be easy to hold, with the widest part slightly closer to the nib.

・The wood is sanded with grits ranging from coarse to 600. This creates a moderate sheen, allowing you to enjoy the natural texture and scent of the wood.

・The surface is carefully cut and checked repeatedly to ensure it is free of imperfections.

・The finish uses Kinuka Oil. The main ingredient is derived from rice, is tasteless and odorless, and is gentle on the skin.

・The sanding is done alternately vertically and horizontally to make the sanding marks less noticeable.

★Karin (Burl)
A hardwood of the Fabaceae family
Scientific Name: Pterocarpus indicus
Also known as: Amboyna Burl
It is a completely different species from the Rosaceae family's Karin (Quince), which is known as a garden tree.
The heartwood is reddish-brown, hard, and heavy.
It is widely distributed in Southeast Asia and is used for construction materials, furniture, and musical instruments.

Burl (Kobu, Burr)
It is rare because it can only be obtained from limited parts of the tree, such as the trunk and roots.
The causes of burl formation are said to be the abnormal proliferation of cells during the repair process due to damage to the tree caused by insect intrusion, injury, disease, typhoons, etc., as well as genetic factors.
Various patterns appear, such as swirls, ripples, and eye-like grains.
