The MA-1 was adopted in the mid-1950s as a successor to the B-15 series of intermediate zone flight jackets. It is a masterpiece flight jacket that was adopted for a long time until the 1980s, undergoing seven specification changes.

Initially, it was equipped with an oxygen tab and an ISC tab, almost the same specifications as the B-15 (MOD), and the lining was gray. (MIL-J-8279, A, B types)
In the mid-1960s, the lining was changed to rescue orange to improve visibility during rescue operations. (C, D types)
In the late 1970s, when the successor model CWU-45P was adopted, the lining became the same sage green as the outer fabric, and it was mainly used by aircrew and ground personnel. (E, F models)
The MA1 for sale is based on the MIL-J-8279D with a rescue orange lining, with the armholes narrowed to create a tight silhouette.
The material is made with the same specifications as 8279D, and each rib is made of 100% wool.
The lining also uses a pile material of wool 58% and cotton 42%, without using polyester like the real thing, and we have succeeded in reproducing the weight and cold protection unique to the real thing.
