* Linguaphone Commuter is an excellent American English learning system formerly co-developed by CBS Sony and Linguaphone Japan. There are three versions, and this is the first edition.

* First Edition: 112 CD set, current retail price including tax: ¥550,000
* Second Edition: 88 CD set, current retail price including tax: ¥330,000
* Third Edition: 30 MD set, current retail price including tax: ¥220,000

* All of the above are out of print and out of stock. The retail prices above varied slightly depending on the distributor and bookstore at the time of release. There have been no content revisions to any of the above editions. The main difference is the number of CDs, with the second and third editions being abridged versions of the first edition. The second and third editions only differ in the audio format (CD or MD), and the content is 100% identical.

* The educational material is a story about a young Japanese person traveling across America with a native American friend, experiencing various things and growing. I used the first edition during my salaryman days on the commuter train every day. Even now, each scene comes back to me like a kaleidoscope.

If you continue this for about two years, you will have perfect English listening skills. (Some people finish in 2-3 months, but it took me, an average person, two years.)

* This set includes all the educational materials, but it does not include a Sony CD Walkman. Please use your own playback device. This set is not the one I used; it was a spare set from a few sets I purchased. Although it's not completely new due to the passage of time, both the CDs and refill texts are almost unopened. I'm sure you'll be able to use it with pleasure.
