This is a vintage sheepskin (mutton) vest from the 70s-80s, made by OVERLAND. OVERLAND was founded in Taos, New Mexico in 1973 and has been a well-regarded manufacturer for half a century, known for its outerwear made from the finest sheepskin, leather, wool, and other natural materials.

The hem, sleeves, and front closure are piped with leather, and the buttons are made of animal horn, with leather loops for fastening – a very detailed construction typical of vintage items. The pocket on the right side adds an accent. The overall atmosphere is excellent, and it's rare to find a sheepskin vest with such high-quality craftsmanship.

OVERLAND moved its headquarters from Taos, New Mexico to Fairfield, Iowa in 1982. The tag on this vest reads "TAOS/N.MEX," indicating it was made during the company's early years, from its founding in 1973 to 1982. This vest is at least 40 years old, but thanks to its careful construction, it still retains its soft, fluffy feel. The inner wool is also very smooth to the touch, with none of the "stiff" feeling often found in vintage mutton.

The color is beige x brown (leather parts). The size is marked as S, but the actual measurements are: length 60cm, shoulder width approx. 37cm, chest width approx. 47cm (between the armpits). This corresponds to a Japanese size M (please allow for slight variations due to amateur measurements). It's a rare size that fits well on Japanese body types without being too large.

The condition is good for a vintage item, with no major stains or dirt as shown in the images. However, there is a 1cm hole on the upper left shoulder (see image 10). This is the only flaw, but otherwise, the vest is in excellent condition. It has a great atmosphere and is well-made, so we hope you will repair it and enjoy it for many years to come (those with nimble hands may be able to repair it themselves).

We are also selling vintage goods as separate items, as shown in the images from the 11th image onwards. We offer a discount for combined purchases.
