The time has come to sell my 100 yr old platter! She’s so pretty! This is an Allerton's English china & porcelain, blue & white transferware, "Blue Willow" platter. Charles Allerton & Sons, was based in Staffordshire, England. Measuring approx. 13 1/2” x 10 3/4 x 1 1/4.” Please look over the pictures carefully as they’re part of the description. There is crazing so please look carefully.
This one is more special than others because it is a lot older! The indicators that prove that it’s 100 yrs old is the maker’s mark! The "Allertons Willow England" mark with the crown was used between approx. 1915 & 1929. You can also tell by the primitive way it was fired in the kiln! There are pieces of soot from the firing process mixed in the glaze on the back of the plate. Manufacturing these was a messy job back then!
