Handsome VOTIV majolica-style cheese keeper set: a covered dome/keeper with matching underplate. The piece has a bold, rustic look with vertical “bamboo” ribbing, a sculptural acorn finial, and a richly variegated green/brown drip glaze that pools beautifully in the textures. The underplate features a coordinating border and a mottled center, giving the set a very “old-world” majolica feel. Inside the cover you’ll see factory-made perforations (shown in the photos), consistent with a cheese keeper design to allow airflow. Underside is impressed “VOTIV” and “MAJOLICA”, with additional impressed text (see close-up photo).
Pre-owned. Glaze crazing typical of majolica-style earthenware. Minor glaze/pigment wear along the underside edge. Light surface wear consistent with age/use.
