In the 1950's, Ubangi Ethnic style jewelry was made popular by US jewelry designers such as Frank Rebajes and the style stayed popular through the 1970s. This unique Ubangi face mask brooch is made of thick and rich satin gold metal and features slits for eyes and elongated ear lobes with ribbed ball bead earrings. The "pendant design" is made of ribbed gold metal ball beads as well.
Unsigned, this ethnic pin is a prominent presentation piece. It is med-lg in size at 2 3/4" tall x 1 3/4" wide. The ball beads are 9 mm. The entire brooch is in exceptional like new condition and is microscopically clean all around. There is no gold wear or loss of gold and there are no dings or dents. On the face, there are a couple of very micro tiny light scratches that are very difficult to see with the naked eye. Original fine working safety clasp is in place.
