French Antique Jewelry Earrings 18k Vintage Dormeuse

Purchased from an antique jewelry shop in France.

These earrings are a "dormeuse" design, where the hook passes from behind the earlobe to the front and is inserted into the hole of the motif. They are comfortable enough to wear while sleeping, and are also known as sleeper earrings.

These are Art Deco style earrings.

Metal: 18k (stamped with a horse head hallmark indicating 18k or higher, plus a maker's mark)
*The horse head hallmark was only used in France between 1838 and 1919, making jewelry with this stamp very rare.
Estimated age: Circa 1900

*I have worn these a few times, and they are in good condition for wear, but the tightness of the clasp is subjective.
Also, as these are antique items, there may be dents, distortions, and discoloration.
They are not perfect, so please check the photos for details of the condition. If you are concerned, please refrain from purchasing.

* Dormeuse earrings are very comfortable, also known as sleeper earrings (earrings that can be worn while sleeping), but they can be a little tricky to put on until you get used to them. Sometimes, after passing the earring through the earlobe, it may slip when hooking it into the clasp.
Be careful not to force it in the wrong direction, and be careful not to use too much force when removing them, as this can cause deformation or damage.
