The Big Bad Wolf Roller Coaster
Original Attraction: Designed by Ron Toomer and built by Arrow Dynamics, the ride opened on June 15, 1984. It was one of the world's first successful suspended roller coasters and was known for its dramatic 113-foot drop over the Rhine River.
Closure: After 25 years of operation, the original coaster gave its final rides on September 7, 2009. It was later replaced by the coaster Verbolten.
Legacy and Return: In 2025, Busch Gardens Williamsburg launched a new attraction called The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf’s Revenge to honor the legacy of the original ride. This new ride is an inverted family roller coaster and is North America's longest of its kind.
Souvenir Details
Cups like the one pictured were sold as park merchandise and often featured the ride's distinctive logo, which became iconic for the Williamsburg, Virginia, theme park.
