A pair of hand-painted wooden castanets.
Castanets are a percussion instrument (idiophone) used in traditional Spanish music and dance, notably flamenco.
The items appear to be vintage souvenirs, possibly from the 1960s, featuring hand-painted designs of flamenco dancers and the name "R. Cadiz".
Each castanet consists of two hollowed-out shells bound together with a string, which are clapped together to create a rhythmic sound.
They are a popular collectible item and souvenir from Spain.
